Cup holder vs. bottle clip: the difference explained

Within the Mr Clipr range there are two versions: a clip specifically for cups, and a clip that handles both cups and PET bottles. The difference lies in the use you are looking for and the kind of drink you usually carry.
The cup holder version
This version is designed to hold a hard cup or soft cup. You attach it to your belt, belt loop or bag, and your cup clicks firmly into the clip. Ideal if you mainly go to places where drinks are served in cups, such as festivals or stadiums, and you rarely carry your own bottle.
The cup and bottle clip version
This version combines the convenience of a cup holder with the option of clicking in a PET bottle as well. That makes it more versatile for situations where you want to carry both drinks from cups and your own water bottle, for example while walking or at the campsite, where you often switch between the two.
Which version should you choose?
Do you mainly go to festivals or events that work with cups? Then the cup holder version is enough. Want flexibility between cups and your own bottle, for example while walking or at the campsite? Then the cup and bottle clip is the logical choice. Also see our pages about walking and hiking and camping for examples where the bottle clip version comes in handy.
Can you switch between versions?
Some people choose to have both versions at home: the cup holder for festivals, and the bottle clip for everyday activities such as walking. Because both versions are available in the same colours, you can easily match their look.
What if you are torn between the two?
Still not sure which version suits you best? Think back to your most recent outings: did you more often use a cup you got on site, or did you usually have your own bottle with you? That simple question usually gives a clear answer. If in doubt, the cup and bottle clip version is the safest choice, because it also handles ordinary cups as well as a bottle.
Both versions, the same attachment
Both versions work with the same simple clamping mechanism. Read our page about how to attach a Mr Clipr for a step-by-step explanation that works the same for both versions.
